Exactly four and a half months following Russell Martin's first press conference as Rangers manager, his replacement Danny Rohl faced the media at Rangers' stadium for the initial occasion.

The scale of the task ahead of him is widely recognized, considering Martin's turbulent and disappointing 123-day spell.

The former Wednesday boss was accompanied by chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned pair of football director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Stewart.

But what precisely did we learn from the young coach's maiden media outing as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Main Priority - Winning is Everything

A single message came through clearly from Rohl's initial presentation in front of the Scottish media - he understands the need to win matches, and achieve this quickly.

The previous manager Martin managed just 17 games and 123 days in charge, so the question emerged about how long Rohl believes is reasonable to transform the underperforming team.

While skillfully sidestepping a direct answer that could bring later expectations, the coach's communication was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he said. "This is crucial.
"In this business you have limited time. One can talk about future plans but we know it's about the short-term and the short-term involves winning games. That is my requirement.
"Another aspect is also clear - I require every squad member to comprehend how we want to play. I come back to my main message: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. If you follow this order, I believe that I'll stay for years here."

Expectations are Normal

Martin required a police escort to leave the stadium after his last match as manager.

We've witnessed how hostile environments can turn at sports teams when results are poor. Protests have almost become an expected aspect of the matchday experience on each part of Glasgow these days.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the question asked about which attributes Rohl believes he has that would allow him to cope, never mind thrive, in one of the most pressurized positions in UK soccer?

"I think pressure in this business is normal," he stated. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I think some people could reference my youth but I have been a decade and a half on this path. I experienced an excellent opportunity to work with Bayern Munich and be just the assistant coach, but I experienced what it means to manage a team and the demands you face.
"When you start winning games and then some critics claim you need to produce entertaining football. That becomes the stage but that's exactly my intention. I relish those expectations and I'm excited about what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Defends Striker Acquisition & Hiring His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were plenty of questions from the media for Thelwell.

Significant attention has concerned the hiring of his son as recruitment chief, with fans unconvinced about his credentials for the position.

However, he justified and clarified the decision to bring his son to the club.

"It remains uncomfortable to listen and in appearance I think we all agreed when we made this step to appoint Robbie that he'd be viewed in a particular way," Thelwell stated.
"The truth of the situation is that we aim to bring the very best players here.
"My view on his professional path and situation is he required no my assistance in soccer.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as a senior scout, after which he moved to Norwich City as head of scouting and then was elevated to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our recruited him, multiple top division clubs wanted to sign him. Our approach from the beginning of the process was consult with Patrick, Andrew and vice-chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I was highly open and I think he likely experienced a more rigorous process than any other who's employed by the team.
"What I do know is that he'll labor constantly to achieve success for this football club and I anticipate seeing him demonstrating that he's going to be an excellent employee for Rangers."

Thelwell also defended the signing of forward Chermiti, who joined the club for an alleged initial fee of £8m, having failed to score in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portugal youth international to Merseyside from Sporting - again for large funds in a fifteen million pound transfer.

The question came if he supports his expensive purchase, who hasn't yet score in seven outings for the club.

"Absolutely, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I believe the striker is a player who's got great ability.
"I haven't questioned him in any way. Similarly, I think Danny will help to maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"It's very initial stages for him, he's a young talent and of course with inexperienced players they occasionally require patience.
"But I'm certain throughout of his career here he's going to prove that he's a highly capable player."

The CEO Acknowledges Fan Frustration and Hurt

Stewart was also in the media scrutiny, given the vitriol that has been aimed at him by certain club own supporters.

Additionally, there was a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the recent tie with Dundee United suggesting Stewart - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before being removed for him.

Like his football director, the CEO did not avoid the topic.

"I totally understand the frustration and hurt that fans are experiencing because performances recently haven't been good enough and nobody's satisfied with those," he stated.
"The hurt and disappointment fans experience is mirrored within the leadership.
"Recognize that there must exist a channel for those frustrations and as chief executive, I'm responsible.
"I'm a focal point for those and my responsibility as a
